If you have a 4G SIM, 4G contract, and your phone supports your carrier's 4G bands but you still can't get a 4G/LTE connection, you made need to enable LTE mode on your modem. Here's how to do it.
1 - Check your current settings. This is important to retain 3G data when moving out of 4G range. You can find this under Settings > Tethering & Networks > Mobile Network > Network Mode
If you don't see LTE listed there, then proceed to step 2. If it's there, select it. Failing that then you have a different problem.
2 - go to your dialer and paste *#*#4636#*#*
Alternatively, you can use the 4G LTE Switch app to skip to step 4.
3 - a menu will open automatically. Click on Phone Info and scroll down to where it says Pick Prefered Network Type.
4 - Press the drop down box and select the option that adds LTE along with your old options.
E.g. for me before it said GSM/WCDMA, so now I pick LTE/GSM/WCDMA to turn on 4G
5 - your network will reconnect and you should now see a 4G icon appear in the top bar.
Note - Rebooting your phone or navigating back to Settings > Tethering & Networks > Mobile Network will reset your connection to default, meaning that you will lose 4G and have to start again!
I have no idea why this is an issue, it's ridiculous. By there you go, hope that solves your problem.
With 5.0 I've found that 4G now appears correctly in the "preferred network mode" under Settings > Tethering & Networks > Mobile Network > Network Mode.
However, if that option is not there for you, you could try this method: (but do so at your own risk!)
go to your dialler and type 3845#*855# to get to the hidden menu. (other LG G3 models can replace the 855 part with their model number)
click "LTE-Only"
click "Modem Settings"
click "RAT Selection" (Radio Access Technology Selection)
pick "GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto"
You should see a little box that says "Success" and LTE should be working. You could also try forcing "LTE-Only" to see if you can pick up a 4G/LTE connection.
I hope that helps.

4g tariffs are exactly similar to 3g tariffs, hence your bill will depend on your usage only. 4g speeds are faster and hence the more data you browse, the more data you consume out of your respective plan. it is suggested to use the plan option according to your monthly data requirement on your smartphone. if you do consume your data quota, you'll have options to upgrade your tariff plan, and you also have the option to buy smartbytes/top-ups to continue on hi-speed 4g internet experience.
